Why we start with people, not places
Published 2026-10-07 · 4 min read · TRVLSOCIAL
Every travel platform asks where you want to go. We think the better question is who you want to be there with.
The best trips most of us remember weren't defined by the hotel or the headline sight. They were defined by the table of twelve after the ride, the stranger who turned out to navigate beautifully, the group that got rained on and calls it the highlight. TRVLSOCIAL starts from that observation and works backwards.
Interests as the doorway
So the product is built around interests, not destinations. You tell it what you love — riding, reef diving, a long hike with a longer lunch — and local businesses build experiences in that same space. Today that means browsing by interest and seeing what each business publishes; automatic wish-to-experience matching is on the roadmap, and the honest version of it will still be shared enthusiasm, arranged honestly.
Small groups on purpose
Experiences are designed for small groups — a dinner table's worth of people, a van's worth of riders, a boat's worth of divers. Each business sets its own capacity; small isn't a premium tier here, it's the intent.
What December means
In December 2026 the first confirmed experiences go live, published by local businesses as they complete setup. Until then you're seeing preview journeys — honest proposals that show the shape of what's coming, clearly marked and never bookable. We'd rather show a truthful draft than a decorated promise.
